ABBOTSFORD(NEWS1130) – As Target and Future Shop check out, a new, big box retailer is coming to the Fraser Valley.
Cabela’s, a hunting, fishing and outdoor gear giant out of the US is hoping to build a 70,000 square-foot store in Abbotsford’s McCallum Junction near Highway One.
Around 160 full, part-time and seasonal jobs would be created according to the company.
Cabela’s is known for an almost theme-park look, with log construction, a large mountain replica, an aquarium and dozens of museum-quality wildlife displays.
There’s also an indoor archery range, Bargain Cave and fudge shop.
Staff also put on seminars and demonstrations.
Tommy Millner, Cabela’s Chief Executive Officer says BC is home to thousands of outdoor enthusiasts and offers truly remarkable outdoor opportunities.
“Abbotsford is a great fit for Cabela’s, and we’re excited about the opportunity to join an area with such a wonderful outdoor lifestyle and history,” he says
This would be Cabela’s second store in BC with Nanaimo being the other location.
