VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Fraser Institute has already ranked BC’s elementary schools.
Now, it’s out with its controversial ratings for secondary schools.
Peter Cowley with the Fraser Institute is the author of the report card, which ranks 289 schools around the province.
“West Vancouver, as a public school district, with three schools, was the highest-ranking public district, along with Revelstoke, which shares number one spot,” he tells us.
Cowley adds that districts in New Westminster, Coquitlam, Richmond, Langley, Vancouver, and North Vancouver placed among the highest in the study, while the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows school district came in below average.
The rankings are based on standardized testing.
