VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It is a place you hope you will never have to visit but if you do, you’ll be thankful it’s there. Canuck Place just celebrated its 20th anniversary at providing care and sanctuary for dying children and their families across the province.
“You know, we started with one child and one family 20 years ago and every year we now support over 600 children with life threatening illnesses and their families. The outreach and outpatient part of what we are doing has grown considerably,” CEO of Canuck Place Margaret McNeil explains.
The hospice has a new facility in Abbotsford but needs funding to redo its Vancouver property notes McNeil, “We have an old facility here that needs refreshing.”
The Conconi Challenge hopes to address that. “Up to 200,000 of every dollar that comes to Canuck Place will be matched by the Robert Conconi Foundation,” she says.
The offer is open until the end of July.
