NEWS 1130 Worst Commute winner hits almost all the traffic chokepoints

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS 1130) – The latest winner in our hunt to find Vancouver’s Worst Commute has the drive that never ends.

Justine Ross’ job involves her taking her personal vehicle across the Lower Mainland.

“Basically, any horrible traffic situation — I will be in it at least once per day,” she tells us.

“I have to take the Massey Tunnel at least once or twice a week. I have to take Highway 1 at least once or twice a week. I have to do North Van so I have to deal with the Lions Gate Bridge weekly. I also have to deal with the Queensborough Bridge every week, as I do New Westminster as one of my territories. I also have to go out to Maple Ridge – Port Coquitlam area each week, which means I have to do all of that Highway 7 and all of those areas, as well.”

She describes one of her worst days, which happened recently:

“It took me from Richmond — where I live — 2.5 hours to get to New Westminster, which is short in distance but there was a stalled vehicle in the right lane of the Queensborough Bridge that caused a complete standstill of traffic.”

Justine’s daily pain earns her our weekly prize of $500 from Jim Pattison Volkswagen Surrey and a shot at a trip to Mexico from Transat Vacations.
