SURREY (NEWS 1130) – The old Port Mann Bridge linking Coquitlam and Surrey is officially dismantled.
What’s left of the former span includes a couple of concrete footings in the Fraser River that will be left as is for fish and wildlife habitat.
All of the material was recycled, including 18 thousand tonnes of steel.
The bridge demolition started in the spring of 2014. The new Port Mann replacement bridge opened to traffic in 2012.
