VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – There’s a takeover in BC’s gaming industry. Playtime Gaming has been bought by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment for an undisclosed price.
Playtime started in 1986, running bingo parlours and expanding into full casinos in 2007.
The company, based in Surrey, has six casinos in Abbotsford, Langley, Victoria, Courtenay, Campbell River and Penticton. Playtime says it generates revenue of more than $49 million a year and employs 300 people.
Gateway’s casinos include the Grand Villa in Burnaby, Starlight in New Westminster and Cascades in Langley.
Both companies are privately owned, Gateway by Toronto based Catalyst Capital Group.
