Trudeau emphasizes balance between growing economy and environment

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The prime minister is emphasizing his responsibility to get Canada’s natural resources to market but says that a balance is needed now more than ever.
Canadians must work harder than ever to strike a balance between growing the economy and protecting the environment — explains Trudeau.
“In the 21st century, getting those resources to market means doing it in responsible, sustainable ways. Making sure that we’re developing new technologies and extracting our resources in ways that are cleaner and more efficient,” he says.
He says an element of our economy will always be grounded in our natural resources. And that this shouldn’t be a partisan issue. Despite their differences he hopes politicians can work together.
