One dead, one injured in Chilliwack workplace accident

CHILLIWACK (NEWS 1130) – One person is dead and another has suffered life-threatening injuries after an accident at a worksite in Chilliwack this morning.
It happened on a stretch of Tamihi Way near Garrison Boulevard in Sardis.
Barb McLintock with the BC Coroners Services says little is known about how it happened at this point.
“Our understanding is the incident happened somewhere around 8 o’clock this morning. Our understanding is there’s one deceased person,” she tells us.
“What we’ve been told is a concrete pump truck had tipped over,” says Trish Knight-Chernecki with WorkSafeBC, which is investigating.
“The worksite is a construction site for a new apartment building in Chilliwack,” adds Knight-Chernecki
Theother worker was taken away by critical care paramedics via air ambulance.
