WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Four West Vancouver families have their morning routine back after flooding forced them from their homes last night.
Donna Powers with the District of West Vancouver says last night’s rain, lightning, and hail – otherwise known as an ‘extreme weather event’ led to the flooding in the area of Willow Creek Road and Marine Drive.
“As a result of that, the creek flooded, and four homes were impacted. It appears that the creeks were likely blocked by hail, and that has since been cleared,” shares Powers, who says crews were kept quite busy overnight.
“There were multiple lightning strikes that crews were responding to, fortunately no fires resulted.”
No one was hurt, and there was no major damage.
