LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS 1130) – This weekend signals the end of the holiday season for many.
What do you with one of the biggest symbols of Christmas still drying out in your living room?
Christmas tree chipping and recycling centres are now set up for business all around the Lower Mainland.
Of course, you’re being asked to take all the decorations, lights, and tinsel off it before you bring it in.
Richmond firefighters will host their annual tree chipping fundraiser today and tomorrow at Garry Point Park, while Surrey firefighters will be at Newton Athletic Park and Guilford Town Centre.
Lion’s Clubs will be set up at Community Centres in Kerrisdale, Sunset and Kits Beach and Trout Lake this weekend, with a donation of cash or non-perishable food welcome.
The landfills in Delta and South Vancouver will be accepting trees free of charge until the end of the month.
And the city will come and collect your tree from in front of your house on the weekend of January 14th and 15th, although you’re being asked to lay it on its side and not inside your Green Bin.
