I’m back on the summer events scene kicking off the May Long Weekend with some incredible community events.
It was a nice mellow start to the weekend stopping in to see what’s new at the Trout Lake Farmers Market… and it looks like rhubarb is top of the master gardeners list! I was loving the Vancouver Farmer’s Market toques but also very happy to not be needing one anymore with the unofficial start to summer finally here!

Next I made my way out to Fort Langley to the National Historial site where the 1st annual SOLD OUT Fort Langley Beer and Food Festival took place in the orchard! What an event! Great music, food and craft beer all celebrating the growth of the craft beer scene in Langley.

Sunday was all about dusting off my cowboy boots and hitting up the 71st annual Cloverdale Rodeo and 129th Country Fair. I interviewed Cowboy preacher Coy Huffman, jumped on stage with the West Coast Lumberjacks and even spoke with Country Rocker Aaron Pritchett before his Longhorn Saloon performance. One of my favourites was learning more about road and work safety in the Cone Zone!

Victoria Day Monday at the Burnaby Village Museum was highlighted with an up close and personal encounter with Queen Victoria herself! See you next weekend Vancouver!
