North Vancouver hit and run suspect leaves license plate at scene

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A driver who police say smashed his car into a light pole and a bus stop in North Vancouver over the weekend has been arrested after leaving a very important piece of evidence at the scene. Investigators say they found the car’s license plate.

The crash happened at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at Mount Seymour Parkway and Mount Seymour Road.

After the crash, officers found the vehicle parked a short distance away where the 25-year-old man was taken into custody. “Fortunately, no one was waiting for a bus at the time of the collision,” says Constable Brett Cunningham.

Police say alcohol was a contributing factor.
