Young man dies following Abbotsford shooting

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Police say an 18-year-old man who was shot near a busy intersection in Abbotsford has died.
Constable Ian MacDonald with Abbotsford Police says officers received a 911 call shortly before 3:30 p.m..
“The called indicated that he believed the incident was taking place in and around that 32500 block of George Ferguson Way, Oriole Crescent area,” says MacDonald.
“Officers arrived on scene and located a crashed Chrysler 300 and a severely injured male with a suspected gunshot wound,” reads a release by the APD.
The victim was shot in the chest and was taken to hospital by air ambulance, but died while being transported.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case, and is asking anyone with information related to this incident to contact them.
Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting, and have not yet made any arrests or determined a motive.
