Convicted sex offender arrested after failing to return to Vancouver halfway house

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A convicted sex offender who didn’t come back to his Vancouver halfway house and was the subject of a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested.
Vancouver Police say Gerald McLean is two-time federal offender serving a long-term supervision order after completing his two-year sentence for sexual assault.
McLean is 48 years old, white, about 5’7″ tall, 175 lbs. and has a number of tattoos including an eagle on his upper left arm and a tribal band on his upper right arm. He also has the word “prospector” on his back.
The VPD issued a public warning about McLean late Saturday night. On Monday morning, we received word that he was arrested.
