VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A familiar voice will be back on the dial soon.
Larry Hennessey will be hosting the hour-long ‘JACK Up the ’80s’ beginning next week. “It’s going to be live off turntables — vinyl. Not only that, cassettes [and] sometimes 8-tracks!”
“I have this huge vinyl collection, huge tape collection. So, I thought ‘Hey, let’s not just play it out of the computer. Vinyl is cool. Tape is cool. Let’s go with the real stuff. And not only that — What could possibly go wrong? It could all collapse,” he chuckles.
He adds listeners should expect a variety of music on his show. “Everything from pop — you’ve got your Wham! and Cyndi Lauper — to the Clash to the Scorpions… all that stuff. It was the 80s.”
‘Jack Up the 80s’ debuts on our sister station JACK 96.9 this coming Tuesday at noon.
