NORTH SHORE (NEWS 1130) – There’s sad news from North Shore Rescue today.
Team member and paramedic Jay Piggot has died.
Piggot had beaten cancer once, and was fighting a second battle when he passed away this morning.
He was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma two years ago.
“With the support of his amazing family, friends, colleagues and the greater community, Jay’s tenacity and strength were awe inspiring,” says a statement from North Shore Rescue.
Piggot had been selected for the team’s flight rescue team and had achieved full-time status with the BC Ambulance Service as a paramedic.
He leaves behind a wife and two sons.
