Forward Adam Gaudette has won the Hobey Baker Award, the top individual honour in men’s college hockey.
Gaudette, of Braintree, Massachusetts, led all Division I players in the US in total points, goal scoring and points per game.
While at Northeastern University, he ended the regular season with an NCAA-leading 30 goals and 30 assists in just 38 games, averaging a national-best, 1.58 points per game.
He was also named the Hockey East conference player of the year.
Gaudette is the first Hobey Baker Award recipient from Northeastern University.
He recently signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks, who drafted him in the fifth round, 149th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Previous winners of the award who played for the Canucks include Brendan Morrison (1997) and Ryan Miller (2001).
