Fallen tree sends worker to hospital in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – A man has been rushed to the hospital after a tree fell on him near Pacific Academy School in the Fraser Heights area in Surrey Thursday afternoon.
Police are releasing very few details at this point.
“BC Ambulance Services contacted Surrey RCMP to assist them with a report of a man that had been struck by a tree that is believed to have fallen due to the winds,” says Sgt. Chad Greig with Surrey RCMP.

He says the man was taken to hospital but the extent of his injuries is unknown.
WorkSafeBC says they were notified about the incident around 10 a.m. in the area of 168 Street and 102 Avenue.
“Preliminary details indicate an outdoor worker was injured and taken to hospital,” read an email from WorkSafeBC.
