Woman bites attacker, stops assault in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Mounties in Surrey say a woman was able to stop an assault by biting her attacker.

It happened at around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday as the woman was walking along 72 Ave near 125 St.

The man apparently grabbed her from behind and “bear hugged” her. He then covered her mouth with his hand when she screamed.

The victim bit the attacker’s hand and managed to get away.

The suspect is described as five feet tall with a medium build. He had a beard.

Meantime, Mounties are sharing some tips about personal safety precautions. They include sticking to main routes and avoiding lanes or secluded areas, walking in well-lit areas, and telling someone where you are going and when you will be back.
