Environment Canada has put wind warnings in place for Surrey, Langley and Abbotsford, with gusts going up to 90 km per hour into the evening. It warned that buildings could be damaged, and loose objects could be tossed by the wind.
There’s also a weather statement in effect for most cities in Metro Vancouver, and snow is a possibility.
Wind is causing problems on the water as well. A vessel off the coast of Deep Cove was in distress last night and had to be towed to shore by a Search and Rescue team, and boats were being battered by the wind and waves at Horseshoe Bay.
