VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – With more snow expected to fall on Monday, BC Ferries is cancelling all evening sailings in three of its major routes.
“Due to the expected deteriorating weather conditions and the snow forecast, we are going to be cancelling some of our sailings later in the evening,” says Deb Marshall with BC Ferries.
All sailings between Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island will be cancelled. Meanwhile, sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay and Langdale will be running under a modified schedule until 8:40 p.m.
“What we found last night around the major service areas the road conditions were pretty poor and you know at Swartz Bay, for example, the Highway was closed for several hours.”
All sailings departing Swartz Bay, Bentwood and Snug Cove have also been cancelled.
