RCMP looking for dash-cam footage in search for missing cowboy

MERRITT – The search for a cowboy who went missing near Merritt a month ago continues, with the RCMP now pleading for dashcam footage.

Thirty-two-year-old Ben Tyner was hired as a ranch manager at Nicola ranch last November and went missing last month, when his horse was found by itself on a logging road.

The investigation continues to be a priority for the Merritt RCMP and the Southeast District Major Crime Unit, said Staff Sgt. Lorne Wood in a release. Investigators are now asking anyone who was in Merritt on the weekend of January 26 to 27, 2019 and has dash cam or other video footage, to please contact the SED MCU tip line at 1-877-987-8477.

Despite a large scale search that included more than 19 teams from across the province, there’s been no sign of Tyner.

Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP.
