Province will build 51 supportive homes for Anita Place campers in Maple Ridge

MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS 1130) –The province says it’s moving ahead with building 51 additional temporary supportive homes in Maple Ridge, about a week after the minister of housing slammed city council for coming up with a plan it knew was not “workable.”

The homes will be used to house people living at the Anita Place camp, which has come to symbolize Maple Ridge’s struggles with homelessness.

It’s believed it will take about five months to complete the 51 units. Construction is set to start in April.
