SURREY (NEWS 1130) – A bizarre scene involving two vehicles at a housing complex in Surrey this week has resulted in a bunch of charges being laid.
The Surrey RCMP says its officers were investigating an unrelated matter early Monday morning at a housing complex in the area of 100 Avenue and Whalley Boulevard when two vehicles — a Honda Accord and Chevy Colorado — were spotted in the roadway.
When Mounties approached them, the RCMP says the driver of a Honda Accord blew through a gate of a townhouse and got stuck.
The Chevrolet then hit a police cruiser as that driver apparently tried to speed away.
Two men “associated with the Honda Accord” were taken into custody, and Mounties are still searching for a third.
Officers also found a collapsible semi-automatic pistol carbine firearm in the Accord, as well as a hunting knife, and latex gloves.
Ryan Molner, 30, of Surrey has been charged with ten separate counts. They include failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The second man arrested continues to be held by police on unrelated warrants. He has not yet been charged in connection with this latest incident.
