One dead, three seriously injured after three separate crashes in Metro Vancouver

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) — One person has died and at least three others have serious injuries after three serious crashes in Metro Vancouver on Thursday.

A crash in Coquitlam involving a grey SUV and a black Dodge Durango has turned out to be fatal; one person was killed and two others have serious but non-life-threatening injuries after a crash 7:20 p.m. Thursday evening on Schoolhouse Street at Lucille Starr Way.

In West Point Grey, a man in his 40s is in hospital with life-threatening injuries and is in serious condition after a motorcycle and transport truck collided around 2:30 p.m.

A third incident around 5 p.m. — which possibly involved a pedestrian — had roads blocked off in Surrey on Highway 10 between 168th and 152nd Panorma Drive for several hours Thursday evening. No information has been shared about any injuries.

Staff Sgt. Paul Vedik with the Coquitlam RCMP spoke on the the fatal crash: “Two people involved were taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries, and unfortunately one person was pronounced deceased at the scene. We activated our criminal crash investigation team and they’re on scene now to process the evidence.”

Schoolhouse Street had been shut down between Booth Avenue and Lucille Starr Way as police investigated this crash.
