Family of Surrey crash victim raising money for scholarship

DELTA (NEWS 1130) — Thousands of dollars have been raised in memory of former Whitecaps prospect Brandon Bassi of Delta, who died from injuries sustained in a car crash in Surrey two weeks ago.
His family has launched a Gofundme page to support the Brandon Bassi Foundation, with more than $20,000 raised since yesterday.
Donations will be used to create a scholarship that will be awarded each year to a North Delta student.
Bassi was an SFU student, and avid athlete.
He played on the SFU men’s soccer team, and was previously involved in the junior Whitecaps program.
