Trudeau settles NBA Finals wager with Pelosi during Washington visit

WASHINGTON – Democratic House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi has settled a wager with Justin Trudeau as the prime minister was on Capitol Hill to talk about trade and other issues.

Pelosi had bet Trudeau that her favourite basketball team, the Golden State Warriors, would defeat the Toronto Raptors in the NBA championships.

Today she presented Trudeau with a basket that included wine and chocolate from California.

The prime minister then presented the U.S. House Speaker with Raptors apparel and chocolate from Nova Scotia.

The Raptors defeated the Warriors a week ago, taking the series in game six.
