VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It’s shaping up to be another strong year for public golf courses in Vancouver. Updated numbers from the Park Board show more than 132,000 rounds have already been played in 2019.
“There was a resurgence in golf this summer with both returning and new golfers, reflecting a trend across the Lower Mainland, said Vancouver Park Board Chair Stuart Mackinnon in a release. “We expect golf numbers will remain hot as long as the weather remains good.”

The best year on file is 2013 and, as long as the weather is good, there’s hope this year’s totals could match that record of almost 170,000 rounds played.
Fraserview is the most popular of the three golf courses with 47,273 rounds played this year, followed by McCleery at 43,789. Langara comes in a close third with 41,238 so far this year.
