NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — After video of a confrontation between a teenager and a security guard was circulated on social media Thursday, North Vancouver police are investigating an alleged assault.
The video was shared with NEWS 1130 and appears to show a security guard striking a young woman wearing a green sweater and backpack and then spitting at her outside of a Lynn Valley McDonald’s.
Mounties are working to identify the person who posted the video and are asking witnesses to come forward.
“It is crucial to any investigative process that police gather all available evidence,” said Sgt. DeVries of the North Vancouver RCMP. “We are also asking any person who witnessed this incident, or who may have a video recording related to it, to contact us.”
They are asking anyone with information to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and ask for the Watch Commander or Cst. Harrison.
