Coquitlam Centre closed briefly after apparent pepper spray incident

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) — Coquitlam Centre has fully re-opened after what appears to be an earlier pepper spray incident Monday afternoon.

Witnesses tell NEWS 1130 shoppers were coughing at around 4:30 p.m. after pepper spray was deployed.

There’s no word if anyone is badly hurt or if RCMP has made any arrests.

Coquitlam Centre said in a tweet they were working with the Coquitlam Fire Department to investigate what happened.
