Thousands lost power after outages in Maple Ridge and Port Coquitlam

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — About 15,000 BC Hydro customers were without power in separate outages in parts of Maple Ridge and Port Coquitlam Thursday afternoon.

Crews have almost restored all power.

The Maple Ridge outage is due to a car crash near 228th and Dewdney Trunk Road and has 7,000 blacked-out.

It appears the Port Coquitlam outage is related to the crash in Maple Ridge.

Ridge Meadows RCMP say a downed power pole on Dewdney Trunk Road is stopping traffic from passing.

BC Hydro says crews are were sent to both areas.

TransLink has reported some disruptions in the area around Dewdney Trunk Road.
