Burnaby RCMP investigating after woman assaulted by stranger

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – Burnaby RCMP are searching for a male suspect after a woman was assaulted while walking outside on Sunday, January 19th.

Just after 11 p.m., officers were called to the area of Gray Avenue and Victory Street where the victim had been walking before she was approached by an unknown man from behind.

The man apparently covered the victim’s mouth and had wrapped his arms around her body before she was able to drop to the ground and scream.

The suspect was able to get away and has not been identified by police yet.

He’s described as a white man with a slim build. He was wearing a black hoody and black gloves with white lettering on them.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
