Two COVID-19 cases at West Vancouver care home

WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Two cases of the global COVID-19 pandemic have been confirmed at Hollyburn House in West Vancouver, according to a statement from the company that operates the facility.

Hollyburn House is the second care home in Metro Vancouver facing a coronavirus outbreak.

One person who tested positive at Hollyburn House lives in the facility run by the company Revera and is now in isolation in their room. The other person is an employee who was detected through an active screening process and is now at home in self-isolation.

The family of someone who lives in the facility says it has received communication about the confirmed cases.
Revera says pandemic responses are in place as is widespread screening. The company is asking anyone with symptoms to avoid coming to the care home.
The province’s first known cases and the only death from the virus were at the Lynn Valley Care Centre in North Vancouver.
