VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – BC Ferries is adjusting service to routes during the COVID-19 pandemic for the next two months, to help slow down the spread of the virus.
Starting on April 10th, BC Ferries will be slashing service to the Southern Gulf Islands, with a simplified schedule that will allow the movement of essential goods and still allows some inter-island travel.
Travel from Tsawwassen to the Southern Gulf Islands is down to a single vessel service, which travels between the two points and stops at Pender, Mayne, and Galiano.
Customers with cancelled reservations will receive refunds.
Earlier this month BC Ferries also cut service for several other routes, including Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo.
During the pandemic, BC Ferries is asking customers to keep up with cancellations and changes to service.
