‘All the hallmarks of a targeted hit’: IHIT identifies Abbotsford shooting victim, seeks witnesses

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) — Homicide investigators have identified the man shot and killed in Abbotsford Friday evening.

When police arrived at a home on Lucern Crescent just befor 8 p.m. they found 43-year-old Karmjit Sran, who had “succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene,” according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

“In these early stages of the investigation, we know that the victim was known to police and that this shooting has all the hallmarks of a targeted hit,” says Sgt. Frank Jang of IHIT in a statement.

“We are working hard to determine motive.”

Investigators are asking for dashcam footage from anyone who was driving along the following roads between 7 and 8 p.m. on July 10.

  • Taylor Road, between Mount Lehman Road and Ross Road
  • Ross Road to 56 Avenue
  • 56 Avenue (becomes 58 Avenue) to the 264 Street exit in Langley
