Two Surrey men charged in collision that seriously injured teenage girl

SURREY (NEWS 1130) — Two young men have been charged in a collision in Surrey last year that left a teenage girl with life-altering injuries.
Vikram Singh Grewal, 19, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, according to a release from Surrey RCMP on Thursday.
Pavandeep Singh Dhaliwal, 21, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
Charges against the Surrey men were approved on June 26.

Grewal received a 10-month driving prohibition. Dhaliwal was suspended from driving for a year.
The collision happened early on July 12, 2019. It involved a white BMW SUV, which left the roadway and hit a Hydro pole on 128 Street in the Newton neighbourhood.

Surrey RCMP later identified a second vehicle and driver that were involved in the collision.
A 17-year-old female who was a passenger in the BMW sustained serious injuries.
“This collision resulted in a life-altering injury for a young woman, and has also undoubtedly impacted the lives of both of the drivers involved,” says Sgt. Ian MacLellan.
