VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — She was wearing a long, red wool coat with a hood when she died, but 24 years later, police still haven’t been able to figure who she was.

The BC Coroners Service and Vancouver Police are asking for help identifying a woman who died at the Broadway SkyTrain station in Vancouver in 1996.

The Caucasian woman — between 30 and 40 years old — was found around 6 p.m. on April 11, 1998 at the SkyTrain station.

She was stood about 5’6″ or 5’7″, with dark brown hair and blue eyes, and had unpierced ears. She was wearing a long, red wool coat with a hood, blue jeans, and a pair of Cougar brand black boots.

At the time of her death, a police artist put together a facial reconstruction image of what she may have looked like.

Information about this cold case and about 180 other open investigations are available on the BC Coroners Service’s unidentified human remains interactive viewer.

Anyone with information that may help identify the woman in the hooded red coat is asked to contact either the Vancouver Police Department at 604-717-3321 or the BC Coroners Service’s special investigations unit at 1-877-660-5077 or by email at bccs.siu@gov.bc.ca.
