Actor Seth Rogen chimes in to help spread COVID-19 message

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Seth Rogen has answered the B.C. premier’s call to promote smart pandemic behaviour.

This week, as the province recorded it’s third-highest single-day increase in new COVID-19 cases, Premier John Horgan called on actors Rogen and Ryan Reynolds to lend their voices to encourage young people to adhere to pandemic guidelines.

A day after Reynolds responded through a video posted to Twitter, Rogen tweeted a general message to the “People of British Columbia!”

“Please do not go out to parties and BBQs and other large gatherings! The COVID is still out there! It’s more fun to hang out alone and smoke weed and watch movies and TV shows anyway! Do that instead! Thank you!”

Rogen’s message had been liked and retweeted thousands of times within minutes of him posting it.

This week, B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix said people attending indoor parties can expect crackdowns.

He promised environmental health officers and people in public health will visit offenders where they gather this weekend.

“It’s our expectation that the limits on the number of people at parties will be in place this weekend, everywhere in B.C.”

A recent video surfaced of a large crowd partying on Granville Street as the 20-to-29-year-old age group has gone up the most with distinct increases around the end of June and end of July.
