Truck doing doughnuts carves up field at Coquitlam middle school

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) — A truck turning doughnuts carved up the entire length of a grass field at a middle school in Coquitlam.

RCMP received a report that the field at Summit Middle School had been vandalized overnight Wednesday.

A black truck entered the school field at around 2:30 a.m., then exited 15 minutes later.

“The vehicle damaged the entire length of the grass by doing doughnuts,” says a release from RCMP.

“School is back in session next week and outdoor learning is a big part of the curriculum this year with COVID-19 protocols in place,” adds Const. Deanna Law.

Witnesses and video are being sought to help with the investigation.

“Police would like to find the suspect that destroyed the field or have them step forward and take accountability for their actions,” Law says.

Investigators are asking anyone who has information about the incident to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and refer to File No. 2020-23759. To remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go to www.solvecrime.ca.
