West Vancouver Hollyburn Country Club closes due to COVID-19 exposures

WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A private West Vancouver country club has closed indefinitely after COVID-19 exposures a week ago.
Members of the Hollyburn Country Club were informed of the closure in a letter Friday, as ordered by the medical health officer for the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
“VCH has continued to do contact tracing based on cases they have confirmed being related back to exposure at Hollyburn. As a result of the contact tracing, we just received word from the medical health officer that Hollyburn is required to close, effectively immediately,” Ed McLaughlin, CEO of the Hollyburn Country Club, says is a post.
There has been a #COVID19 exposure at the Hollyburn Country Club. Exposure would have been between Oct. 1 & 6. The club closed on Saturday as of 6p and will be closed until further notice.

The exposures happened at the club between Oct. 1 and 6. Anyone who visited the club during that time is advised to self-monitor for any COVID-19 symptoms until Oct. 20.
The club closed on Saturday.
A letter to members from Hollyburn president Carol Fraser asked them to be more vigilant in following COVID-19 protocols.
“During this closure, we will be doing rigorous cleaning of all club areas and working with VCH to get more information,” McLaughlin says. “As more information becomes available, we will be immediately passing it along to the membership.”
Hollyburn Country Club was established 60 years ago on 42 acres of West Vancouver’s British Properties.
The exposures are not yet listed by Vancouver Coastal Health.
