VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – There is just one week left in Movember, but you don’t have to grow a moustache to make a difference. Take Stephen Lang for instance, the North Vancouver-based athlete and adventurer is pledging to take one million steps this month to help spread the word about men’s health.
“I thought, what is it that I can do, outside of growing a moustache, which I’m not very good at, and because I love sports so much, I decided to run a thousand kilometres and I thought that would be a good number to raise some great awareness and funds for this awesome charity.”
“A thousand kilometres is about 33 kilometres a day, give or take, in 20 days,” he explains. “Some days, I’m doing 50 or 70, so I’m definitely pushing myself.”

Lang says he is blown away by the response he has received so far. “Everyone knows that I love to run and bike and ski and do all these sports. The thing I find interesting though is, on my donation page, is most of the donations I’ve received so far are actually from women who are mothers of sons. So, I just want to bring awareness that it is okay [for men] to ask for help and hope to encourage others to do so.”
