VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A man has been arrested following a shocking scene caught on video outside some homes in Vancouver, Wednesday.
Vancouver police say the man was taken into custody after several 9-1-1 calls came in reporting someone swinging what appears to be a machete, in one hand, and a large kitchen knife in the other.
One video, captured by a wireless doorbell camera and shared on social media, shows the man walk up to the front door of a home around Rupert and 41st Avenue, knock and ring the doorbell repeatedly but no-one answers.
We have asked for more information, including if he is still in custody, if charges are being considered, and if both weapons were recovered (@VancouverPD response indicates "a knife" was recovered by officers) – stay tuned to @NEWS1130

After wielding one of two large knives he’s seen carrying, the man walks up to the camera and is captured using one of the knives to seemingly unscrew something.
Other video shared online shows the man walking around other properties in the area.
No injuries have been reported. It’s unclear if the man is still in custody, and police have only confirmed that “a knife was recovered by officers.”
