COVID-19 outbreaks at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Langley Memorial Hospital

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) — Fraser Health has declared COVID-19 outbreaks at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and the Langley Memorial Hospital long-term care.

Four patients have tested positive at the Abbotsford hospital but the outbreak is limited to one of the medicine units.

“A patient cohorting plan is being implemented to allow for limited admissions to the unit,” a release from Fraser Health reads.

The hospital, including the ER, remains fully operational.

Meanwhile, three staff members who work in the Cedar Hill residence at Langley Memorial Hospital long-term care have also tested positive for COVID-19.

Those who have tested positive are in isolation.

Fraser Health is working to identify anyone who may have been exposed at both locations and is taking steps to protect the health of all staff, residents and families.

“Abbotsford Regional Hospital is working with essential visitors to the affected unit on a case-by-case basis,” the release adds.
