Still no signs of Port Moody woman as volunteer ground search wraps up

PORT MOODY (NEWS 1130) – Those closest to a missing woman in Port Moody say they’re not giving up hope, even as the volunteer search for the 48-year-old is put on hold.
Police are still asking for security and dashcam footage from the Heritage Mountain area with the hopes of figuring out where Trina Hunt may be.
Port Moody investigators are looking for footage from anyone who drove in the area between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., Jan. 18. People who live in the area are also asked to provide video they may have from that time frame.
Hunt appears to have vanished from her home without a trace. She was last seen there around 6 a.m., and is thought to be wearing a puffy black The North Face branded jacket with a teal green collar and purple running shoes.
Her husband reported her missing Monday evening after he says he found their house empty when he came home from work.

In the days since her disappearance, hundreds of volunteers have helped comb the ground, including on trails and in parks, while police continued a sweeping search involving helicopters and dogs.
The 48-year-old’s family says they’ve been overwhelmed with gratitude for those who showed up to help, offering a special thank you neighbours for setting up a command centre and coordinating volunteers, all week.
They’re also expressing their gratitude to local businesses for sending food and supplies.
The command centre was packed up Thursday night but people continue to post Hunt’s image around town.
“(Trina is) a beautiful wife, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin and friend. We continue to hope through the incredible efforts of the Port Moody Police Department that she will be brought home soon,” the family says in a statement.

They haven’t given up hope and say they’ll continue to work with police, hoping “that clues to her disappearance will be found.”
Meanwhile, Sgt. Ian Morrison with the Port Moody Police Department has acknowledged the efforts by the community to search for Hunt “during this tremendously difficult time.”
“We are proud to serve in such an engaged and caring community,” he writes.
Hunt is described as 5’4″ tall and weighs about 120lbs. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Port Moody police at 604.461.3456.
