VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – There’s another warning from the BC Conservation Officer Service after a jogger was bitten by a coyote along the seawall in Vancouver Wednesday evening.

The jogger, who had just passed the 4km mark, was southeast of the Lions Gate Bridge when he was bitten in the calf by one of the animals.

“He suffered a bite to his right calf, and was treated at hospital. Conservation officers attended the attack site last night, but no coyote was found,” reads a statement posted to the BCCOS Facebook page.

Conservation officers have been in the park in the past few weeks after multiple sightings of the animals.

While seeing a coyote isn’t uncommon, officers say the fact they’re following people is. It’s believed these animals have been fed.

Any encounters or information regarding people feeding wildlife should be reported to the RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277.
