SURREY (NEWS 1130) – More exposure notices about COVID-19 variants have been put out for schools in Surrey.
On Friday, Fraser Health Authority confirmed exposures at Queen Elizabeth Secondary School, Frank Hurt Secondary School, and M.B. Sanford Elementary School.
Superintendent Jordan Tinney expanded on the notices Saturday in a tweet.
Two classes at Frank Hurt have been instructed to self-monitor for symptoms after someone with the virus was at the school Feb. 18.
Meanwhile, an entire class at M.B. Sanford has been told to get tested rather than only monitoring after a person with the virus was at the school Feb. 12.

The exposure at Queen Elizabeth was from Feb. 8 to Feb. 12, but no other details were available.
The health authority said it is investigating, which “appear to be linked to community transmissions.”
“The variant strain can transmit more quickly and easily but does not interfere with the effectiveness of vaccines, nor affect our ability to test for the virus,” reads a statement from Fraser Health. “It is critically important for people living in the Fraser Health region to get tested as soon as you have COVID-19-like symptoms, even mild ones.”
