VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A Vancouver man will spend nine months in custody after pleading guilty to possessing what police describe as “horrific” images and videos of child pornography.
Ryan Jones pleaded guilty Friday to possession of child pornography and making child pornography available.
“This case began in October 2018 as a proactive investigation targeting offenders using peer-to-peer file sharing networks to trade child sexual abuse material,” Vancouver Police Const. Tania Visintin said. “Jones was identified as a suspect immediately. A search warrant of his residence was executed in March 2019 and multiple devices were seized.”
The VPD says its Internet Child Exploitation investigators found over 2,300 images and 55 videos of child pornography. The ages of the victims in the footage ranged from three to 10 years old and police say they were “engaged in various horrific and violent sexual acts.”
Jones’ sentence is nine months in custody and two years’ probation.
