Wind warning in effect for Metro Vancouver Sunday

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Heavy winds are expected throughout the day Sunday for Metro Vancouver.
Winds of 70 km an hour to 90 km an hour near the water are expected with stronger gusts in the afternoon that will likely ease overnight.

According to BC Hydro, Buntzen Lake will be closed Sunday because of the wind warnings currently impacting the area.

“Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break,” an update from Environment Canada reads.
There will be periods of rain ending near noon then a mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of showers according to Environment Canada.
