Man guilty of Vancouver homicide arrested after failing to appear at sentencing hearing

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Vancouver police have arrested a 61-year-old man who didn’t show up for his sentencing hearing back in March.

Thomas Toth was found guilty of manslaughter in the death of an elderly man in December, 2017. He pushed a man in his 80s to the ground outside the Costco on Expo Boulevard. The victim hit his head and later died of his injuries.

Toth was supposed to attend a sentencing hearing on March 5 but failed to show. A Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

On May 28, police said Toth was found and arrested. He remains in custody.
