Woman bitten by coyote in Stanley Park prompts conservation officers to issue another warning

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Conservation officers are once again reminding people to watch out for aggressive coyotes after a woman was bitten in Stanley Park.
A woman was walking along the sea wall near Prospect Point Lighthouse just after 9 p.m. Tuesday when she was bitten on the calf.
Her injuries are minor, but officers weren’t able to find the animal.

Conservation officers are now reminding the public that if a coyote approaches you, try to make yourself look bigger, throw objects at it, and make lots of noise to scare it off.
“Coyotes are more active at dawn and dusk and park users should consider avoiding those times,” a Facebook post reads. “If you choose to go to Stanley Park, there is a risk you could encounter an aggressive coyote.”
